Background

King Street Pre-School was established in January 2006 to provide the local community with a safe, stimulating and happy environment for early years children. Housed in a purpose-built setting adjoining Wesley Methodist Church , the Pre-School overlooks Christ's Pieces, one of Cambridge’s most historic green spaces. King Street Pre-School is a not-for-profit organisation, run by a committee of current and past parents and carers. The Pre-School is currently attended by 26 children between the ages of 2 years 3 months and 5 years and has four full-time staff supported by regular help from parents. It is our intention to keep numbers small in order that every child knows his/her teachers and fellow children well. It also allows us to maintain a family feel to the setting and particularly benefits children settling-in during what is, for many, their first experience outside of the home environment.

Hours and fees

King Street Pre-School meets every week day in term time from 9:15 am until 12:15 noon.

The cost is £14 per session and Early Years Education Funding is available from the term after the child reaches 3 years old. Children are currently entitled to five 2.5 hour sessions per week, for 38 weeks per year.
